Region 2
No. 2 Calvary Christian (10-2) at No. 1 Berkeley Prep (10-2), 7

This is the fourth time these teams have met in the last two seasons. Despite winning the last meeting to clinch the district title, the Warriors are traveling because the Buccaneers finished higher in the Florida High School Athletic Association’s power rankings. This also is a rematch from last year’s region semifinal that Calvary Christian won 29-28 in overtime. Trailing by a touchdown, Sean Cuono scored a touchdown, then the Warriors decided to go for a two-point conversion with Jacob Drackett throwing to Toby Wroe on a successful conversion and the win. To reach the state semifinals for the first time, Calvary Christian will rely on a balanced offense led by Drackett, Cuono and receiver Josh Robinson. Drackett, an Air Force commit, threw for 265 yards last week, giving him 7,364 for his high school career to become Pinellas County’s all-time leading passer. He broke the record of 7,312 set last year by Lakewood’s Anthony Calandrea, now at Virginia. The Calvary Christian senior also threw for four touchdowns, giving him 89 in his career. He needs three more to set the Pinellas County single season record set by Clearwater’s Aidan MacLean in 2021. It was not the only record the Warriors set on offense. Robinson had 88 receiving yards a week ago, giving him a school-record 1,015 for the season. It is no secret what Berkeley Prep plans to do on offense. The Buccaneers move the ball primarily on the ground thanks to the devastating 1-2 punch of running backs Joseph Troupe and Dallas Golden, both of whom have run for more than 1,000 yards. The duo’s production of Berkeley Prep’s former tandem of Xavier Townsend and Travis Bates, who helped the program make its last state semifinal appearance two years ago.
