Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County girls basketball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday.

Jolesa Birkhead, Jr., Winthrop College Prep: Made the all-tournament at the Bell Creek Invitational after averaging 25.6 points per game to lead her team to a 3-1 start. 

Jewel Harwell, Sr., Sumner: Averaged 13 points and five rebounds in two games at the Insider Exposure tournament. 

Izellah Kendrick, Jr., Bloomingdale: Ended up with 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a season-opening win over Durant. 

Ashley Knox, Jr., Tampa Catholic: Recorded an average of 20 points per game in wins over Wiregrass Ranch and Lake Wales. 

Lucy Morey, Sr., Academy of the Holy Names: Averaged a team-high 15.3 points, 5.3 assists and 3.3 steals in leading the Jaguars to a 3-0 start. 

Damaria Pitcher, Fr., Jefferson: Finished with 26 points and eight rebounds in a win over East Bay.
