Here are the nominees for the Hernando County boys basketball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

Zion McKenzie, Jr., Springstead: Ended up with 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a win over Hernando. 

Jacob Mcphail, Jr., Nature Coast: Averaged 14 points per game in wins over Citrus and Dunnellon.

Alex Onishi, Sr., Weeki Wachee: Finished with 11 rebounds, nine points and four blocks in a win over Crystal River.  

Jeroen Watson, Sr., Central: Recorded 21 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks in a win over Weeki Wachee. 

Josiah Wright, Sr., Hernando: Finished with 20 points, four rebounds and steals in a win over Crystal River.
