Volleyball: Hernando County player of the Year — Jan. 8, 2023

Here are the nominees for the Hernando County volleyball player of the year. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

Addison Carpenter, Jr., Nature Coast: Ended up with 269 kills and 142 digs for the 11-14 Sharks. 

Dylan Elferdink, Sr., Weeki Wachee: Recorded 210 digs and 169 kills in helping the Hornets win the Class 4A, District 9 title. 

Brooke Hart, Jr., Hernando: Ended up with 216 assists, 152 digs and 98 kills for the 9-11 Leopards this season. 

Emily Miller, Sr., Springstead: Finished with 411 kills and 300 digs to help the Eagles go 18-9 this season. 

Zioneliz Miranda Perez, Sr., Central: Recorded 265 digs for the Bears this season. 

Isabella Nunag, Sr., Springstead: Ended up with 472 kills and 202 digs to help the Eagles finish 18-9. 

Marlee Schumacher, Fr., Weeki Wachee: Recorded 235 digs and 232 kills in helping the Hornets win the Class 4A, District 9 title. 

Amanda Tirado, Jr., Nature Coast: Ended up with 451 assists and 61 digs for the 11-14 Sharks. 

Kaiya Ward, Jr., Hernando: Finished with 224 kills and 156 digs for the 9-11 Leopards this season.
