In the news
Today, the Florida Coaches Coalition, along with the Florida Education Association, will meet with state legislatures in Tallahassee to discuss the low pay among coaches.
It is the first opportunity to address the lack of compensation, which amounts to a few dollars on the hour given the time commitments with sports that run throughout the school year with offseason training programs.
Florida State’s Mike Norvell, South Florida’s Alex Golesh and Venice’s John Peacock are among the coaches expected to speak.
The Florida Coaches Coalition is focused on a more statewide effort. The organization is asking high school and college coaches to speak and speak on the importance of increased compensation.
