Here are the nominees for the Hernando County girls basketball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Paige Atwater, Sr., Weeki Wachee: Scored 40 points and set the school and Hernando County record with 11 3-pointers in a win over Hudson. 

Melanie Francis, Sr., Springstead: Had a monster performance, finishing with 29 rebounds and 19 points to lead the Eagles to a win over Lecanto for the Gulf Coast 8 Conference title. 

Quintara Norwood, Sr., Nature Coast: Recorded a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) in a win over Hudson.
