Girls basketball: Hillsborough County player of the week — Jan. 29-Feb. 3, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County girls basketball player of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Jazlyn Bowman, So., Plant: Led the Panthers with 28 points, four rebounds and four assists in a Western Conference semifinal win over Wharton. 

Maddie Dean, Jr., Berkeley Prep: Ended up averaging 10 points and 8.5 rebounds per game  to help the Buccaneers go 2-1 for the week.

Deana Epps, Sr., Hillsborough: Averaged 19 points per game in wins over Robinson, Spoto and Durant.  

Leighann Hanley, Sr., Carrollwood Day: Had a solid, averaging 24 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5 assists per game in wins over Excel Christian, Patel and Seven Rivers Christian. 

Lucy Morey, Sr., Academy of the Holy Names: Led the Jaguars by averaging 20 points per game in wins over Parrish Community and Land O’ Lakes. 

Kelsey Sharpe, So., Sickles: Averaged 20.5 points, 10 steals, 8.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game in wins over Sumner and Wharton. 

Tabitha Vega, Sr., Bloomingdale: Played a vital role underneath the basket, averaging nine rebounds per game in wins over Sickles and Plant to help the Bulls take home the Western Conference title. 

Kyah Vance, Jr., Lennard: Scored a team-high 27 points in a win over Blake.
