The boys basketball playoffs continue tonight with the region finals. Here are the capsules for the Tampa Bay area teams playing in each class. The winners advance to the state semifinals starting next week.
Class 7A
Region 3
No. 6 Plant City (22-6) at No. 1 Winter Haven (25-1), 7
The Raiders have together at the right time, beating Plant (48-45) in the region quarterfinals and Sarasota Riverview ((58-51) in the semifinals. Now comes the hard part. Plant City has to travel to take on Winter Haven, the top seed in the region. The Blue Devils have won 26 straight games, including against two against Durant ad one against Sumner in the last three games.

The Falcons, who have already won Western Conference and district titles, will now try for their next goal: the state semifinals. Everything is set up for Leto to make that happen. The Falcons, ranked sixth in the class by MaxPreps, have won eight straight games and are undefeated at home. After starting 9-10, the Tarpons have turned things around with eight straight wins.

Advancing to the state semifinals will not be easy. Leesburg has won five straight games, including a victory over Jesuit in the region semifinals.

The Griffins advanced by rallying to beat the Crusaders by two points in the region semifinals to extend their win streak to seven.
