Baseball: Pinellas County pitcher of the week — Feb. 19-24, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County baseball pitcher of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday.

Landon Austin, Sr., Seminole: Threw a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in a semifinal win over Pinellas Park at the Steve Georgiadis tournament.  

Camden Boehm, Fr., East Lake: Went six scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out seven in a title game win over Osceola at the Packer Invitational. 

Cory Geinzer, Sr., Northeast: Started the season by throwing a perfect game with 12 strikeouts in a win over Sarasota at the Packer Invitational. 

Grayson Gibson, Jr., Calvary Christian: Finished with a combined seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out 12 in wins over Indian Rocks Christian and Tampa Catholic.

Joshua Jackson-Valverde, Jr., Largo: Threw six innings, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out 12 in a win over Sunlake. 

Blake Lightfield, Sr., Keswick Christian: Hurled a five-hit shutout with seven strikeouts in a win over Clearwater that lasted five innings because of the mercy rule.
