Softball: Pinellas County pitcher of the week — March 4-9, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County softball pitcher of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

Emily Boylan, Sr., Palm Harbor University: Threw a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts in a win over Mitchell.

Malia Connelly, Sr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Recorded the 200th strikeout of her career this past week. 

Alexis McLaughlin, Fr., Tarpon Springs: Allowed two unearned runs on one hit and recorded 14 strikeouts in a win over Anclote that lasted five innings because of the mercy rule.  

Kaylyn Mitchum, Sr., Countryside: Tossed three perfect innings with five strikeouts in a win over Tarpon Springs. 

Lucy Mondok, So., East Lake: Finished with a two-hit shutout and recorded eight strikeouts in a win over Hollins that lasted five innings due to the mercy rule. 

Sophie Sokolowski, Jr., Pinellas Park: Struck out all six batters she faced in a win over Tarpon Springs. 

Morgen Talley, Jr., Calvary Christian: Threw a no-hit shutout with five strikeouts in a win over Osceola.
