Baseball: Hillsborough County hitter of the week — April 1-6, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County baseball hitter of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Monday. 

Andrew Bunner, Jr., Tampa SLAM: Went a combined 7-for-11 with a homer, a triple, a double, seven RBIs and four runs scored in three games. 

Matthew Counts, Sr., Lennard: Finished a combined 4-for-7 with a homer, a double, four RBIs and three runs scored in wins over East Bay and Bloomingdale. 

Daniel Despaine, Jr., Alonso: Ended up going a combined 7-for-11 with a double and four RBIs in wins over Plant City, Blake, Leto and King.  

Justis Meadows, Jr., Wharton: Finished a combined 5-for-8 with a homer, six RBIs and five runs scored in wins over Spoto, Freedom and Middleton. 

Jaden Nazer, Jr., Sickles: Went a combined 5-for-9 with four RBIs and four runs scored in wins over Jefferson, Robinson and Riverview. 

Akhil Nimmala, Sr., Strawberry Crest: Ended up going a combined 3-for-5 with two homers, six RBIs and four runs scored in wins over King, Tampa Bay Tech and East Bay. 

Colin Pellicer, Sr., Plant City: Finished 3-for-4 with a homer, five RBIs and four runs scored in a win over Brandon. 

Julius Pfau, Sr., Berkeley Prep: Ended up going a combined 4-for-6 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in wins over Carrollwood Day and Brooks DeBartolo. 

Noah Sheffield, Sr., Jesuit: Went a combined 6-for-8 with an RBI and a run scored in wins over Wiregrass Ranch and Tampa Catholic.

Jonathan Torna, So., Chamberlain: Finished a combined 3-for-5 with two runs scored in wins over Armwood and Hillsborough. 

Kalab Williams, 8th, Seffner Christian: Ended up going 4-for-7 with a double and four RBIs in wins over Lakeland Victory Christian and Cambridge Christian.
