Baseball: Pinellas County pitcher of the week — April 8-13, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County baseball pitcher of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Andreas Alvarez, Sr., Northside Christian: Allowed one unearned run, giving up two hits while striking out two in six innings in a win over national powerhouse IMG. 

Gavin Capiello, Jr., Lakeside Christian: Threw a no-hitter, allowing one unearned run while striking out 13 in a win over City of Life Christian. 

William Eaton, Sr., Calvary Christian: Hurled four scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out three in a win over Venice. 

Kole Hopkins, Sr., Tarpon Springs: Went 6 ⅓ innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out 10 in a win over Seminole. 

Jackson Krukonis, Sr., East Lake: Recorded a no-hit shutout (two walks from being perfect) and finished with seven strikeouts in a win over Seminole. 

Riley McDonald, Jr., Hollins: Threw four scoreless, no-hit innings with eight strikeouts in a win over Northeast. 

Ian Strickland, Sr., Countryside: Finished with a three-hit shutout and four strikeouts in a win over Clearwater. 

Conner Russell, Sr., Keswick Christian: Threw 4 ⅓ perfect innings with five strikeouts in a win over Tampa SLAM.
