Region 2
No. 5 Palm Harbor University (18-6) at No. 4 Newsome (18-8), 7

This rematch follows a game in March where the Hurricanes triumphed 5-0. Emily Boylan pitched a five-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and also went 2-for-4 at the plate during that encounter. Both teams are entering this game after suffering losses in their district championship games last week.

No. 7 Sumner (18-9) at No. 2 Steinbrenner (19-8), 7

The Stingrays won the previous meeting 11-5 in the season opener. Last week, the host Warriors survived a series of tough games, beating Plant 4-3 in eight innings and Palm Harbor University 3-2 to take home the 7A-7 district title.

No. 3 East Ridge (19-7) at No. 3 Durant (17-8), 7

The host Cougars’ current three-game win streak includes victories over Strawberry Crest and Newsome for the 7A-6 district title. The Knights are coming off a loss to Windermere in the 7A-5 district final.

Region 2
No. 1 Bloomingdale (25-1) at No. 8 Gaither (10-11), 7

A loss to Palmetto in the 6A-7 district final not only ended the Bulls’ perfect season but also forced them to travel to take on the 6A-6 champion Cowboys in the opening round of the playoffs. In February, Bloomingdale beat Gaither 4-1 in the only other meeting between the teams this season.

No. 4 Land O’ Lakes (17-9) at No. 5 Palmetto (14-10), 7

The Gators are trying to regroup after going 1-3 in their last four games, though the three losses were all to quality teams. The host Tigers have plenty of confidence after knocking off previously undefeated Bloomingdale in the 6A-7 district final.

No. 7 Riverdale (20-7) at No. 2 East Lake (23-2), 7

The host Eagles, winners of nine straight games, earned the No. 2 seed after a dominant performance in the 6A-5 district tournament. East Lake beat Sunlake and Mitchell by a combined 13-2 for the title. The 6A-8 champion Raiders are battle-tested with four of their last six games decided by either a run or in extra innings.

No. 6 Punta Gorda Charlotte (17-9) at No. 3 Wiregrass Ranch (24-2), 7

Despite missing out on a district title, the Bulls still were able to secure a home game as the No. 3 seed thanks to their stellar record. The Fightin’ Tarpons are coming off an eight-inning loss to Riverdale in the 6A-8 final that ended their three-game win streak.

Region 2
No. 8 Wesley Chapel (11-13) at No. 1 Horizon (20-5), 7

The Wildcats put everything together at the right time, beating Cypress Creek and River Ridge for the 5A-7 district title. The opening round matchup will be a tough one with Wesley Chapel traveling to take on the top seed Hawks, who have won five straight games.

No. 5 Springstead (14-7) at No. 4 River Ridge (15-11), 7

Both teams are looking to regroup after late season struggles. The Eagles have lost three of their last four games while the host Royal Knights have gone 2-3 in their last five games.

No. 7 Lecanto (13-10) at No. 2 Osceola (17-10), 7

The Panthers have posted shutouts in four of their last six wins. Keeping the host Warriors off the scoreboard could be tough considering they hit homers in three consecutive at-bats in their win over rival Seminole in the 5A-8 district title game.

No. 6 Pasco (9-7) at No. 3 Auburndale (11-14), 7

The Pirates made the playoffs with an at-large berth after losing in the 5A-5 district semifinals. The Bloodhounds are coming off a loss to top seed Horizon in the 5A-6 district final.

Region 3
No. 5 Northeast (13-5) at No. 4 Naples Barron Collier (14-7), 7

The Vikings won the 5A-9 district title for the second time in three years. They travel to take on the 5A-12 champion Cougars, who have won five straight games.

No. 6 East Bay (19-8) at No. 3 Fort Myers (17-7-1), 7

The Indians played well down the stretch, winning 10 of their last 12 games. Keeping that momentum could be tough against the Green Wave, who are undefeated at home.

Region 3
No. 8 Canterbury (6-17) at No. 1 Evangelical Christian (23-2), 6
