Outlook

The Bulls have been on an impressive — and wild — postseason run. They exacted revenge from a district final loss to beat Palmetto in the region quarterfinals, knocked off East Lake, the top seed in the region, in the semifinals and got past defending state champion Sickles in the final to reach the final four. Bloomingdale’s offense is averaging nine runs per game in the playoffs. But the pitching has come through, too, with a shutout against the Tigers and allowing just two runs to the Gryphons. Another tough game awaits in today’s semifinals with a game against the Bobcats, who are ranked No. 1 in the class by MaxPreps and own the top overall seed in the 6A bracket. Buchholz enters on a nine-game win streak — five via shutouts.
