Baseball: Tampa Bay area hitter of the week — May 6-11, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Tampa Bay area baseball hitter of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Monday. 

Vincent DeCarlo, Jr., Jesuit: Finished a combined 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs in wins over Island Coast and Osceola in the first two rounds of the Class 5A playoffs. 

Vincent Dinzeo Jr., Jr., Bloomingdale: Powered the Bulls by going a combined 5-for-7 with two homers, a double and seven RBIs in wins over Palmetto and East Lake in the first two rounds of the Class 6A playoffs. 

Julian Earle, Jr., Carrollwood Day: Went 3-for-3 with a double in a Class 2A region quarterfinal win over Southwest Florida Christian.

Cameron Kessell, Jr., River Ridge: Ended up going 2-for-3 with an RBI in a Class 5A region quarterfinal win over Sebring. 

Austin Knierim, So., Hernando: Hit a combined three doubles and finished with six RBIs in wins over Orlando Bishop Moore and Nature Coast in the first two rounds of the Class 4A playoffs. 

Dylan Pabon, So., Wesley Chapel: Went a combined 4-for-8 with two RBIs and two runs scored in wins over Pine Ridge and Cypress Creek in the first two rounds of the Class 5A playoffs. 

Chase Perkey, Sr., Northside Christian: Had a pair of homers and finished with five RBIs in wins over Imagine School and Fort Myers Canterbury in the first two rounds of the Class 2A playoffs. 

Joseph Troupe, Jr., Berkeley Prep: Ended up going a combined 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored in wins over Fort Meade and Calvary Christian in the first two rounds of the Class 3A playoffs.
