Outlook

Both teams are ranked among the top four in the class by MaxPreps (the Warriors are No. 4, and the Eagles are No. 1). In Tuesday’s semifinals, they each rallied to reach the title game. Calvary Christian overcame an early 2-0 deficit to send the game to extra innings, then got out of two bases loaded, no-out jams before eventually beating Baldwin 6-3 in 10 innings. Alexis Camilleri led the offense with two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs. The Warriors had their streak of six straight shutouts snapped but they kept a more important streak intact by winning their 14th straight game. Now, Calvary Christian is on the brink of history. With a win tonight, Calvary Christian will become the first area program to win three straight state titles. The matchup will be tough against Montverde, which is ranked sixth overall in the state by MaxPreps. The Eagles extended their win streak to 10 games by beating Somerset Academy 8-7 to advance to the title game. Luna Taboas was 4-for-5 with three runs scored.
