Alonso’s Carly Price wins Dottie McGahagin award

Alonso guard Carly Price won the Dottie McGahagin Basketball Award, given each year to the top senior girls player in Hillsborough County. 

Price joins an impressive list of winners that includes Candice Dupree (Wharton/Temple/WNBA), Taylor Emery (Freedom/Tulane/Gulf Coast State/Virginia Tech/WNBA) and Amber Henson (Sickles/Duke). 

As a senior, Price averaged 10.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. She was first team selection on the Western Conference’s American Division.

Price played on varsity since she was a freshman and averaged at least nine points per game every season.
