Armwood defensive tackle Desmond Watson announced his commitment to Florida on Thursday.

Watson becomes the fourth area player from the Class of 2021 to commit to the Gators, joining fellow Hawk Charles Montgomery, Jefferson tight end Gage Wilcox and Gaither’s Jordan Young.

Listed as a three-star recruit, Watson whittled his list of 21 down to Florida and Texas A&M the past few weeks. The 6-foot-5, 350 pound senior becomes the fifth defensive linemen the Gators have added so far in the 2021 class.

Last year, Watson had 65 tackles and 10 sacks.
