LB Tre Reader, Sr., Berkeley Prep

Tre Reader moved up to varsity as a freshman and became a consistent starter two years ago. His main job on defense is to bring down opposing ball carriers.

And Reader excels at that task. 

Last season, he recorded 65 tackles. Reader already has improved upon those numbers as a senior. His 74 tackles in eight games this season leads the team by a considerable margin. 

Two weeks ago, Reader recorded 15 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in a win over Lakeland Victory Christian. 

That got the attention of fans. Reader received 56 percent of the votes (701) in the Hillsborough County football player of the week poll to beat out Tampa Catholic’s Mario Mayo (299).
