Durant has enough balance in its lineup that any starter can lead the team in scoring on any given night. 

Three weeks ago, it was Aiden Jones’ turn. 

The junior led all scorers with 26 points in a pivotal win against East Lake, a team the Cougars could potentially see again in the playoffs. The total was significantly more than the 9.6 points per game Jones was averaging this season. 

Fans came away impressed. Jones had 56 percent of the votes (141) in the boys basketball player of the week poll to beat out Wiregrass Ranch’s Josh Martin, who had 25 percent (63 votes).
