Pinellas County girls basketball player of the week — Jan. 17-22

G Ava Stoller, Jr., St. Petersburg

Ava Stoller has continued to be a prolific scorer since returning from a knee injury that sidelined her most of last season.

The junior is averaging 23.7 points per game. Her scoring has picked up even more the last two weeks with a pair of games in which she had 30 or more points.

Stoller’s playmaking abilities also are key in the Green Devils finishing the regular season with a 13-6 record.

Two weeks ago, Stoller had her best performance of the season, averaging 29 points per game in wins over Seminole and Tarpon Springs.

Fans were impressed. Stoller had 52 percent of the votes (1,139) in the Pinellas County girls basketball player of the week poll to beat out Largo’s Mikayla Paschal, who had 20 percent (451 votes).
