Turnaround teams

It just two games for two county teams to equal their win total from last season. And two others are just one win away from matching their total from a year ago.

The perfect quarterback

Jesuit’s Luke Knight may not be the tallest – or strongest – quarterback in the area.

No matter.

Knight does something better than any other local signal caller.

He wins.

Since taking over as the starter lat season, Knight is undefeated. He led the Tigers to a perfect record (15-0) and a state title last season.

The unbeaten streak has continued with Jesuit beating defending region Wharton in the season opener and defending state semifinalist Treasure Coast last week.

That makes Knight 17-0 as a starter.

This week, the Tigers – and Knight – get another tough test when they travel to play another defending state semifinalist, Miam Columbus.

First win for Falcons

Leto was still searching for its points of the season after getting shut out against Blake in the opener.

The Falcons finally scored against Brandon via a safety.

It turned out to be the only points of the game.

The 2-0 victory was the first for new coach Ron Perisee. It also marked the second straight year Leto has beaten the Eagles.
