Volleyball: Army Hillsborough County player of the week (Oct. 3-8)

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County volleyball player of the week, sponsored by the Army. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday.

L Lauren Donofrio, Sr., Academy of the Holy Names: Recorded a team-high 17 digs in a sweep over Carrollwood Day.

OH Alexia Goderich, Jr., Bloomingdale: Led the Bulls with 20 digs and 14 kills in a win over Sumner.

OH/MB Malaika Guttoh, Sr., Riverview: Had a combined 21 kills and 10 digs in wins over Durant and Blake.

MH Jayla Hickey, Sr., Bell Creek Academy: Recorded a combined 30 kills and 13 blocks to help the Panthers go 3-1 last week.

MB Lucy Pellenbarg, Sr., Hillsborough: Finished with 14 kills, three kills and drathree blocks in a five-set win over Armwood.

S Mia Saavedra, Sr., Wharton: Ended up with a combined 29 assists, 21 kills and nine digs in wins over King and Alonso.
