Outlook
This is a rematch from a meeting the Celtics won 3-1 in September.
The Marauders, ranked No. 4 in the class and No. 12 overall in the state by MaxPreps, survived one of the toughest regions in the state, beating Berkeley Prep, Tampa Prep and Sarasota Cardinal Mooney, to reach the state semifinals for the first time since winning it all in 2014.
CCC’s already loaded roster was bolstered with the addition of several key transfers, including Lauren Cairo (Calvary Christian) and Aliyah Waldon (Bishop McLaughlin), that provided depth and talent most other teams can only dream about. Josie Hensley currently is second in the state in assists with 884.
Still, getting payback to reach the title game will be a challenge.
Trinity Catholic, which has won two state titles in the past four seasons, is ranked No. 2 in the class and No. 4 overall in the state by MaxPreps. After starting the season 4-3, the Celtics have put it together, winning 16 straight matches.
