Girls basketball: Pinellas County player of the week — Jan. 9-14

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County girls basketball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Sunday. 

Jacquavia Ferguson, Jr., Gibbs: Scored a team-high 19 points in a win over rival Lakewood. 

Ava Graham, Jr., Keswick Christian: Finished with a team-high 31 points to eclipse 1,000 points in her career in a win over St. Petersburg. 

Sumayah Lewis-McIntosh, So., Lakewood: Averaged 23 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three blocks against Ridge Community and Plant at the Spartans’ MLK tournament. 

Julia Matheny, Sr., Calvary Christian: Recorded a team-high 25 points, including seven 3-pointers, in a win over Steinbrenner. 

Ja’naija Roney, So., Pinellas Park: Led the Patriots with a team-high 17 points in a win over Hollins. 

Sydney Rush, Sr., East Lake: Scored 12 points in a win against Canterbury to eclipse the 1,000-point career plateau.
