Flag football: Tampa Bay area player of the week — Feb. 27-March 3

Here are the nominees for the Tampa Bay area flag football player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Alyssa Bongiovanni, Sr., Steinbrenner: Ended up with 11 receptions for 141 yards and three touchdowns on offense and recorded two interceptions on defense in shutout wins over Gaither and Carrollwood Day. 

Abby Elwell, Jr., Lennard: Threw for a combined 622 yards and seven touchdowns on offense and had eight tackles (flag pulls) on defense in wins over Plant, Newsome (first in program history) and Harmony. 

Lamya Mack, Jr., Gibbs: Recorded a combined 15 tackles and seven sacks to help the Gladiators go 2-1 the opening week of the season. 

Katejion Robinson, Sr., Robinson: Finished with nine catches for 140 yards and three touchdowns on offense and picked off a pass on defense in a season-opening win over Bloomingdale. 

Alyssa Stahl, Sr., Plant City: Ended up with a combined 27 catches for 316 yards and three touchdowns on offense and had three interceptions on defense in four games last week. 

Makenna Sturgis, So., Alonso: Recorded a combined eight receptions for 173 yards and four touchdowns on offense and had an interception on defense in wins over Riverview and Gaither. 

Layla West, Jr., Hillsborough: Accounted for eight touchdowns (five passing, two rushing and one interception return) and picked off four passes on defense in wins over Newsome and Plant City.
