What to watch

Berkeley Prep (5-0) at Palm Harbor University (4-1), 4

The undefeated Buccaneers are ranked No. 1 in Class 3A and No. 3 overall in the state by MaxPreps due in large part to outscoring opponents by combined 41-7 during their perfect start. After losing to rival East Lake the opening week of the season, the Hurricanes have bounced back with three straight wins. 

River Ridge (2-1) at Calvary Christian (3-1), 6

Both offenses are capable of putting up big numbers. The Royal Knights are averaging seven runs per game while the Warriors (No. 3 in Class 3A) are averaging six runs per game. 

Riverview (3-1) at Newsome (2-2), 7

The Sharks have won three straight games, including a victory against the Wolves last week. Newsome rebounded from that loss to beat East Bay and is now looking for payback in the rematch with Riverview. 

East Bay (5-2) at Bloomingdale (4-0), 7

This is a great pitching matchup with the Indians’ Elana Roush squaring off against the Bulls’ Natalie Cable. Scoring could be difficult for East Bay. After all, Bloomingdale has allowed just one run all season. 

Mitchell (3-1) at Land O’ Lakes (3-1), 7

The Mustangs won all three meetings last year, including a 4-3 victory in the region final to advance to the state semifinals for the second straight season. Mitchell enters the series this year trying to rebound after a loss to Wiregrass Ranch last week. The host Gators are coming off two impressive victories over Wiregrass Ranch and River Ridge.
