What to watch

Hernando Christian (8-2) at Academy at the Lakes (8-1), 4

This is an important game between a pair of Class 2A, District 6 contenders. After starting 6-0, the Lions have gone 2-2 in their last four games. The host Wildcats are on an eight-game win streak. 

Lakewood Ranch (9-4) at Calvary Christian (9-2), 6

A matchup between defending state champions. The Mustangs are trying to get back on track after a one-run loss to Parrish Community last week. The Warriors are coming off a one-run loss to Tampa Catholic that snapped their nine-game win streak. 

Wiregrass Ranch (6-3) at Academy of the Holy Names (7-2), 6

The Bulls are looking to rebound after losing their last two games by a combined three runs. The Jaguars are returning from a strong performance at the Lady Canes Spring Invitational in Clearwater, where they went 3-1. 

River Ridge (8-4) at Osceola (10-2), 6

Both teams are ranked in the top 10 of Class 5A by MaxPreps (the Royal Knights are No. 10; the Warriors are No. 5). They each went 3-1 at last week’s Lady Canes Spring Invitational. 

Clearwater (7-2) at Seminole (7-1), 7

This is the second of three straight road games for the Tornadoes this week. On Monday, they beat Clearwater Central Catholic to extend their current win streak to three games. The host Warhawks also have won three straight games.
