What to watch
Jesuit (14-0) at Dunedin (11-1), 6:30
This is one of the most anticipated matchups of the season, a battle between the defending Class 5A state champion Tigers and the defending Class 4A state semifinalist Falcons. Both teams are ranked among the top three in their respective classification by MaxPreps (Jesuit is No. 1 in 5A; Dunedin is No. 3 in 4A). The Tigers, who are also ranked No. 2 nationally, won the Saladino Baseball Tournament earlier this month en route to their perfect start. The host Falcons have won 10 straight games, the last coming by a run against River Ridge on Tuesday.
East Lake (9-2) at Mitchell (12-3), 7
The cross-county rivals are starting to get hot at the right time. The Eagles have won five straight games, outscoring the last two by a combined 22-5. The Mustangs bounce back from last week’s nine-inning loss to Wiregrass Ranch to beat the Bulls in the rematch and get past Land O’ Lakes in another nine-inning game.
Sickles (11-2) at Bloomingdale (9-3), 7
The Gryphons, ranked No. 6 in Class 6A by MaxPreps, have won their last three games by a combined 28-4. The host Bulls, meanwhile, bounced back from a three-game losing streak to beat Plant City and Lennard in their last two games.
