Here are the nominees for the Pasco County baseball pitcher of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Monday.
Nathan Aprile, Jr., Land O’ Lakes: Threw three perfect innings with five strikeouts and combined with Michael Halfpenny and Logan Baisley on a no-hitter in a win over Mitchell in the Class
Mills Carrillo, Fr., Wesley Chapel: Threw six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out nine in a win over River Ridge in the Class 5A-8 district semifinals.
Cameron Kessell, So., River Ridge: Went six innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out 10 in a win over Fivay in the Class 5A, District 8 quarterfinals.
Travis Mabin, Sr., Bishop McLaughlin: Threw a perfect game with eight strikeouts to First Academy for the Class 2A-5 district title in a game that was called after five innings because of the mercy rule.
Caden Widener, Sr., Pasco: Hurled six innings, allowing two earned runs on eight hits while striking out nine in a win over Cypress Creek in the Class 5A-8 district quarterfinals.
