Outlook
Plant is in the state semifinals for just the third time in school history, the last one coming 23 years ago. The Panthers, ranked second in the class by MaxPreps, have plenty of momentum with 18 straight wins heading into tonight’s semifinal matchup. They also know how to prevail in close contests, winning five of their last eight games by two runs or less. Wellington, ranked third in the class, is 8-0-1 in its last nine games, including five straight victories. Defense has played a big role with the Wolverines allowing just two runs in their last two games.
