Girls soccer: Hillsborough County player of the year (Classes 4A-2A) — June 5

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County girls soccer player of the year in Classes 4A-2A. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

Lena Bailey, Sr., Tampa Catholic: The multisport athlete had 24 goals and 11 assists in leading the Crusaders to the Class 3A region final. 

Selah Diehm, Sr., Cambridge Christian: Ended up with 32 goals to help the Lancers reach the Class 2A region quarterfinals. 

Jasmyn Mitchner, So., Robinson: Prolific scorer finished with 34 goals in helping the Knights reach the Class 4A region semifinals. 

Isabella Murphy, Jr., Tampa Catholic: Recorded a team-leading 25 goals and had three assists to help the Crusaders reach the Class 3A region final.

Olivia Pielak, Sr., Berkeley Prep: The Jose Alvarez award winner played a key defensive role for the district champion and Class 3A region semifinalist Buccaneers. 

Ava Politz, Sr., Academy of the Holy Names: Finished with a team-leading 12 goals for the Class 4A region finalist Jaguars.
