Girls basketball: Hillsborough County player of the year (Classes 7A-5A) — June 22

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County girls basketball player of the year in Classes 7A-5A. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Alyssa Bongiovanni, Sr., Steinbrenner: Averaged 20.6 points, 12 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game for the Warriors this season. 

Keyara Bromley, Sr., Armwood: Averaged 15.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3.7 steals per game to lead the Hawks to the Class 6A region semifinals. 

Aissa Diallo, Sr., Bloomingdale: Ended up averaging 9.7 points, 3 assists and 2.3 steals per game in helping the Bulls advance to the Class 6A region final.

Deana Epps, Jr., Hillsborough: Recorded 15.8 points per game to lead the Terriers to the Class 6A region quarterfinals.  

Sophia Flair, Sr., Durant: Averaged 13 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in helping the Cougars advance to the Class 7A region quarterfinals. 

Ki’Ajanae Gordon, Sr., Durant: Recorded 15.1 points per game to help the Cougars reach the Class 7A region quarterfinals. 

Jewel Harwell, Jr., Sumner: Averaged 13.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game for the Stingrays this season. 

Beckham Hockley, Jr., Sickles: Finished with an average of 18.4 points, 3.3 assists and 3 steals per game to lead the Gryphons to the Class 6A region quarterfinals.  

Maggie Lauber, Sr., Durant: Ended up averaging 13.9 points and 4.6 assists for the Class 7A region quarterfinalist Cougars. 

Noelle Mengel, So., Bloomingdale: Averaged 14.4 points and 2.3 assists per game to help the Bulls reach the Class 6A region final. 

Masiel Reyes, Riverview: Recorded 19.3 points and 5.8 steals per game for the Sharks this season. 

Briyana Sapp, Sr., Tampa Bay Tech: Finished with an average of 12 points, 3.6 steals and 2.3 assists for the Class 6A region quarterfinalist Titans. 

Morgan Sieper, Sr., Plant: Averaged 14.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.7 steals per game in helping the Panthers reach the Class 7A region final. 

Tanner Strickland, Sr., Plant: Recorded 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game for the Class 7A region finalist Panthers. 

Jade Thompson, Jr., Tampa Bay Tech: Averaged 10.1 points, 6.2 assists and 3.5 steals per game to help the Titans reach the Class 6A region quarterfinals. 

Na’Chauncia Welch, Jr., Armwood: Recorded 11.8 points and 3.7 assists for the Class 6A region semifinalist Hawks. 

Khalia Woodley, So., Alonso: Finished with an average of 21.6 points per game for the Ravens this season.
