Football: Hillsborough County top quarterback (Classes 4-3M) — July 19

Here are the nominees for the top quarterback in Hillsborough County in Classes 4-3M. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday.

Rhys Brush, So., Armwood: The baseball standout takes over as the starter for the Hawks this season.  

Chris Denson, Jr., Plant City: This year’s starter threw for 332 yards and a touchdown in a limited role last season. 

Joseph Glennon, Jr., Alonso: The Mitchell transfer has already been named the starter for the Ravens. 

Will Griffin, So., Jesuit: Took over as the starter early last season and threw for 1,653 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Class 3M state semifinalist Tigers.  

Noah Guenther, So., Newsome: Takes over as the starter after playing in a limited role last year.

Xzavier Jackson, Jr., Tampa Bay Tech: Is one of three quarterbacks competing for the starting job. 

Jackson Jensen, Sr., Wharton: Threw for 1,950 yards and 22 touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to the Class 4M region quarterfinals.  

Darryon Jones, So., Hillsborough: The dynamic playmaker moves into a starting role this season for the Terriers. 

JC Marisola, Jr., Plant: Finished with 615 yards and eight touchdowns for the Class 4M region semifinalist Panthers.   

Trey O’Malley, Sr., Plant: Threw for 1,678 yards and 16 touchdowns to help the Panthers reach the Class 4M region semifinals last season. 

Jayce Nixon, Jr., Gaither: Ended up with 3,269 passing yards and 36 touchdowns to lead the Cowboys to the Class 3M region semifinals.  

Ty Robinson, Sr., Steinbrenner: Threw for 2,185 yards and 23 touchdowns to help the Warriors reach the Class 4M region quarterfinals.  

Logan Rogers, So., Tampa Bay Tech: The Jefferson transfer is competing with two others for the starting spot. 

Dillon Rose Bailey, So., Bloomingdale: Emerging star threw for 1,048 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.  

Jaden Rosebury, Sr., Tampa Bay Tech: Finished with 329 yards passing and eight touchdowns for the Titans last season. 

Brandon Royal, Sr., Sickles: Threw for 2,226 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Gryphons last season.  

Michael Ryan, Jr., Durant: Finished with 1,655 yards and nine touchdowns while helping the Cougars reach the Class 4M region quarterfinals. 

Greg Smith III, Sr., Sumner: Versatile athlete accounted for 2,210 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. 

Aaron Turner, Sr., Riverview: Threw for 728 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Sharks last season.
