Flag football: Tampa Bay offensive player of the year — July 20

Here are the nominees for the Tampa Bay flag football offensive player of the year. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Saturday. 

Emma Clough, Jr., Newsome: Finished with 3,304 yards passing and 49 touchdowns for the Class 2A region semifinalist Wolves. 

Abby Elwell, Sr., Lennard: Threw for 4,589 yards and 64 touchdowns for the Class 2A region finalist Ravens. 

Katejion Robinson, Sr., Robinson: The 1A state player of the year finished with 1,514 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns for the champion Knights. 

Mieke Rowe, Sr., Alonso: The 2A state player of the year threw for 5,016 yards and 95 touchdowns while leading the Ravens to undefeated season and state title. 

Zakylah Segarra, Jr., Newsome: Ended up with 777 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns for the Class 2A region semifinalist Wolves. 

Angel Shell-Nabiau, Sr., Tarpon Springs: Finished 776 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns for the Spongers this past season.  

Angely Smidey, Sr., Leto: Ended up with 1,330 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns for the Falcons this season. 

Haidyn Spano, Jr., Robinson: Threw for a state-leading 5,274 yards and 98 touchdowns to help the Knights win the 1A title. 

Sydney Steinberg, Fr., Wharton: Had 1,240 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns for the Wildcats this season. 

Makenna Sturgis, So., Alonso: Recorded 1,300 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns for the Class 2A state champion Ravens.   

Elyse Thornton, Sr., Steinbrenner: Ended up throwing for 3,121 yards and 47 touchdowns for the Class 2A region semifinalist Warriors. 

Layla West, Jr., Hillsborough: Accounted for more than 2,000 yards and 29 touchdowns in just 12 games this season.
