Here are the nominees for the Hernando County girls basketball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Paige Atwater, Sr., Weeki Wachee: The McDonald’s All-American nominee averaged 15.6 points per game and eclipsed the 1,000-point career plateau in helping the Hornets go 2-1 at the River Ridge New Year’s Tournament. 

Kayla Holloman, Sr., Hernando: Scored a team-high 13 points in a win over Berkeley Prep at the River Ridge New Year’s Tournament.

J’ziyah Munford, So., Springstead: Finished with 12 points and seven rebounds in a win over Ocala Vanguard.  

Neaya Richardson, Fr., Hernando Christian: Recorded a double-double (14 rebounds, 12 points) in a win over Real Life Christian.
