Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County baseball pitcher of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Liam Akins, So., Tampa Prep: Threw five scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out seven in a win over Christ School (NC).

Yadiel Garcia, Sr., Chamberlain: Recorded a perfect game with six strikeouts in a win over Brandon that was called after five innings because of the mercy rule. 

Gabe Troya, Jr., Carrollwood Day: Hurled a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a win over Brooks DeBartolo.

Kaeden Waechter, So., Jesuit: Threw 3 ⅓ scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out four in a win over Jefferson for the Saladino Tournament title.  

Wade Walton, Sr., Newsome: Recorded a two-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts in a win over Plant. 

Messiah Williams, Jr., Brooks DeBartolo: Threw a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in a win over Spoto.
