Baseball: Pinellas County pitcher of the week — April 15-20, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County baseball pitcher of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Landon Austin, Sr., Seminole: Lasted six innings, giving up one earned run on one hit while striking out five in a win over Countryside. 

Cory Geinzer, Sr., Northeast: Went 6 ⅓ innings, allowing two earned runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out nine in a win over Dunedin. 

Joshua Jackson-Valverde, Jr., Largo: Gave up one earned run on five hits while striking out 12 in a win over Clearwater. 

Jackson Krukonis, Sr., East Lake: Threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out five in a win over Palm Harbor University. 

Blake Lightfield, Sr., Keswick Christian: Recorded a four-hit shutout with five strikeouts in a win over Pinellas Park. 

Smith Wortham, Jr., Palm Harbor University: Threw a seven-hit shutout with four strikeouts in a win over Calvary Christian.
