The Bulldogs are in the playoffs for the second straight season and are trying to reach the region semifinals for the first time since 2013. It will be a tough task. The Jaguars, ranked fifth in the class by MaxPreps, have overcome injuries to win their last four matches and make the playoffs for the fourth straight season. Academy of the Holy Names’ top goal is getting back to the state semifinals for the third straight season.

After starting the season 1-1, the Spongers reeled off 15 straight victories to make the playoffs for the fourth straight season. Two of Tarpon Springs’ three losses this season went to five sets, including one last week in the district final to Academy of the Holy Names. The Blue Streaks enter the playoffs with some momentum, winning eight of the past their past nine matches.

The Sharks overcame a five-match losing streak in the middle of the season to win five of their last six matches. That helped them reach the playoffs after a one-year absence. The Manta Rays, ranked eighth in the class by MaxPreps, have won four straight and are in the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Playing a challenging schedule helped the Pirates boost their ranking enough to make the playoffs for the fourth straight season despite having a losing record. After going undefeated in the regular season and reaching the region final last season, the Hornets wanted to face tougher competition in the regular season this year to get ready for the postseason.
