Boys basketball
Springstead (11-2) at Berkeley Prep (7-3), 7
The Eagles are coming off a runnerup finish at their own tournament. They face another challenge against the Buccaneers, who won all three of their games at last week’s Tampa Sun Bash tournament.
Brooks DeBartolo (8-1) at Winthrop College Prep (13-1), 7:30
The top private school matchup of the night. The Phoenix won three straight to take the title in their bracket at last week’s Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. The Spartans, meanwhile, went 1-1 in another bracket at the same tournament.
East Lake (8-4) at Gibbs (8-2), 7:45
The Eagles are trying to rebound after losing three straight at the Tampa Sun Bash tournament last week. That could be tough against the Gladiators, who have plenty of momentum after winning the Frank Griffin tournament and finishing second at the Suncoast Holiday Classic during the break.
Boys soccer
Mitchell (10-3-1) at Wiregrass Ranch (12-3-1), 7:30
The Pasco County rivals face off in their only meeting of the season. The Mustangs are looking to bounce back after a 3-2 loss to Sunlake before the break. The Bulls, ranked No. 7 in Class 6A by MaxPreps, have gone 2-1-1 in their last four matches.
Girls basketball
Lennard (12-3) at Durant (9-3), 6:30
The Longhorns recovered nicely from a three-game losing streak by winning four straight at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. The Cougars, meanwhile, are trying to bounce back from a two-game losing streak.
East Bay (11-5) at Bloomingdale (11-3), 6:30
Both teams went 2-2 at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. Expect a low scoring game. The two teams are each averaging less than 41 points per game.
Calvary Christian (12-3) at Boca Ciega (8-4), 7
The Warriors went 3-2 during the break with the two losses coming by a combined six points. The Pirates’ loss at a tournament last week snapped a three-game win streak.
Academy of the Holy Names (10-5) at Keswick Christian (9-4), 7:30
The Jaguars last three losses have all been by single digits. The Crusaders advanced to the final of their own tournament last week.
Seminole (5-3) at Palm Harbor University (8-3), 7:45
The Warhawks are trying to rebound from two straight losses. The Hurricanes have been on a roll since a 1-3 start.
Girls soccer
Osceola (7-1-1) at Shorecrest (5-1), 5
The Warriors have allowed just three goals all season. The Chargers, ranked No. 2 in 2A by MaxPreps, have won four matches by two or more goals.
Steinbrenner (8-1) at Tampa Catholic (6-2-1), 6
Both teams are ranked among the top eight in their respective classifications by MaxPreps (the Warriors are No. 8 in 7A and the Crusaders are No. 5 in 3A).
Sickles (8-2-3) at Land O’ Lakes (7-4), 7
Both of the Gryphons’ losses were by a goal. The Gators have won four of their last five matches, the lone loss in that span coming by a goal against Durant.
