Hillsborough County baseball player of the week poll — May 2-6

Here are the nominees for the Hillsborough County baseball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

OF/P Carter French, Sr., Jesuit: Went 2-for-3 with two triples, six RBIs and two runs scored in a win over Jefferson in the Class 5A, District 6 semifinals en route to the title. 

INF/P Cameron Guise, So., Sickles: Ended up going a combined 4-for-6 with a triple and three runs scored in wins over Largo and Sickles to help the Gryphons become Class 6A, District 6 champions. 

P/SS Mike Hawks, Jr., Plant: Threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out three to lead the Panthers to win over Alonso in the Class 7A, District 7 title game. 

CF Gabe Mangual, Sr., Sumner: Ended up going a combined 5-for-9 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored to beat Brandon in the semifinals and Braden River in the final for the Class 5A, District 7 title. 

INF Brett Martin, Sr., Durant: Drove in the lone run of the game to beat Plant City in the semifinals and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored in a win over in the final of the Class 7A, District 6 tournament. 

INF/P Noah Sheffield, So., Tampa Prep: Ended up going a combined 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, four RBIs and three runs scored in wins over Carrollwood Day and Tampa Catholic to take the Class 3A, District 5 title. 

P Joe Tomasello, Sr., Seffner Christian: Threw a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in a win over Foundation Christian in the Class 2A, District 10 title game. 

INF Jake Turer, So., Wharton: Went a combined 5-for-8 with a homer, five RBIs and three runs scored in wins over Mitchell and Land O’ Lakes to take home the Class 6A, District 5 title. 

INF Elijah Vickers, Jr., Strawberry Crest: Ended up going a combined 4-for-6 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored in wins over Armwood and Bloomingdale to help the Chargers become Class 6A, District 7 champions.
