Football: Top Pinellas County Running Back (Classes 4-3M) — Aug. 9

Here are the nominees for the top running back in Hillsborough County in Classes 4-3M. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

Ray Barnes, Sr., East Lake: Will get plenty of work in a revamped backfield this season. 

Mykehl Boebert, Sr., Palm Harbor University: Finished with 501 yards and five touchdowns on the ground last season. 

Nathan Carter, Sr., Osceola: Ran for 1,321 yards and 11 touchdowns to lead the Warriors to a district title last season. 

Will Mirabella, So., East Lake: Newcomer in the backfield also will be a factor in the passing game. 

Malachi Peterson, Sr., Largo: Ended up with 886 yards and nine touchdowns to help the Packers reach the 3M region finals. 

Jack Rothman, Sr., St. Petersburg: Rushed for 308 yards and two touchdowns before an ACL injury sidelined him in mid-October of last year. 

Emarian Triplett, Sr., Pinellas Park: Showed what he can do in the spring game by rushing for 265 yards. 

MiKale Washington, Jr., Northeast: Finished with a team-leading 350 yards and five touchdowns on the ground last season. 

Carson Weakley, Sr., East Lake: Versatile playmaker should get plenty of work in a deep backfield.
