Natalie Aniol, East Lake: Led the Eagles with seven kills, five digs and three aces in a win over Tarpon Springs. 

Other prime time performers

Lina Cao, Pinellas Park: Had 15 assists and nine digs in a loss to Seminole. 

Brianna Ferreira, Pinellas Park: Ended up with 13 digs and 12 kills in a loss to Seminole. 

Amelia Langlier, Osceola: Recorded six kills and four blocks in a loss to Clearwater Central Catholic.

Jo Jo Wheaton, East Lake: The freshman made her debut with nine assists in a win over Tarpon Springs. 

Kailyn Woods, Osceola: Finished with seven digs and five assists in a loss to Clearwater Central Catholic. 

What to watch tonight
St. Petersburg (0-0) at Shorecrest (0-0), 6

Both teams open their season tonight. The Green Devils are led by Brooke Jordan and Tate Keber. The host Chargers’ top player is Maria Happ. 

Nature Coast (1-0) at Hernando Christian (2-0), 6:30

The host Lions’ perfect start includes a victory over Hernando. Now, Hernando Christian tries to knock off another county opponent. It will not be easy. The Sharks gained confidence with their 3-1 victory over Weeki Wachee. 

Plant (1-0) at Tampa Prep (1-0), 7

The defending Class 7A region finalist Panthers started their season with a sweep over Lake Brantley, Now, Plant takes on another Hillsborough County powerhouse in the Terrapins, who swept Sickles in their opener. 

Mitchell (1-0) at Springstead (1-0), 7

This is an important matchup between a pair of Class 6A, District 9 contenders. Both teams started the season with sweeps. The Mustangs breezed past Zephyrhills while the host Eagles beat Central. 

Gaither (1-0) at Newsome (1-0), 7

Both teams got off a strong start with wins in their openers. The Cowboys trailed Sumner by sets before storming back to win 3-2. The host Wolves, meanwhile, cruised in a sweep over Hillsborough. 

Sunlake (0-1) at Wiregrass Ranch (1-0), 7:30

A rivalry matchup between two of Pasco County’s top teams. The Sahawks are trying to bounce after getting swept by Calvary Christian. The host Bulls started off with a sweep over Bishop McLaughlin. 

Steinbrenner (0-0) at Academy of the Holy Names (1-0), 7:30

The Warriors’ regular season opener is a tough one against the defending Class 3A state semifinalist Jaguars, who started off with a sweep over Keswick Christian on Tuesday.
