Jesuit’s Neal Goldman reaches 700 career wins

After losing in overtime to Wiregrass Ranch, the host Tigers bounced back in a big way, routing Carrollwood Day 69-33.

By doing so, Jesuit coach Neal Goldman hit a major milestone.

Goldman, now in his 36th season as coach, won his 700th game.

He becomes the 10th coach in the state to ever reach that mark and ranks second in all-time wins in the Tampa Bay area behind Tampa Prep’s Joe Fenlon.

What to watch tonight
Freedom (2-1) at Wiregrass Ranch (3-0), 7:30

The host Bulls have been impressive, beating East Lake, Boca Ciega and Jesuit to start the season. They put their undefeated record on the line against the Patriots, who are trying to bounce back after a one-point loss to King.

Countryside (3-1) at Northeast (2-1), 7:45

Though the Cougars are coming off a loss to Palmetto Ridge, they are still undefeated against Pinellas County opponents, including a solid victory over defending state semifinalist St. Petersburg last week. The host Vikings enter with some momentum after beating Lakewood in their last game.

Hollins (5-0) at Lakewood (2-2), 8

The regular season is not even two weeks old, and the Royals already have more wins than they did all of last season. Hollins now faces its toughest when it travels to play the Spartans, who are looking to snap a two-game losing streak.
