Softball: Tampa Bay area pitcher of the week — May 13-17, 2024

Here are the nominees for the Tampa Bay area softball pitcher of the week poll. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

Natalie Cable, Jr., Bloomingdale: Allowed a combined three runs on seven hits and recorded 28 strikeouts in wins over Palmetto and East Lake to reach the Class 6A state semifinals. 

Keala Hollenkamp, Sr., Academy of the Holy Names: Recorded a four-hitter, allowing one unearned run while striking out 13 in a Class 3A region semifinal win over Fort Myers Bishop Verot. 

Shannon Kendall, Sr., Academy at the Lakes: Hurled a five-hitter, allowing two unearned runs while striking out 13, in a Class 2A region final win over Cornerstone Charter. 

Aliyah Lai, Jr., Osceola: Gave up one unearned run on four hits in a Class 5A region semifinal win over Auburndale. 

Lilly Patton, So., Steinbrenner: Went seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits while striking out six in a Class 7A region semifinal win over Durant that lasted nine innings. 

Morgen Talley, Jr., Calvary Christian: Threw a pair of shutouts, allowing a combined 10 hits while striking out 13 in wins over Berkeley Prep and Academy of the Holy Names to reach the Class 3A state semifinals.
